Although scrubbing the skin is no longer recommended as a way to cure acne, there is an aspect of acne care that requires gentle and consistent techniques to cleanse the skin. In addition to cleansing the ravaged skin, the daily routine may require application of topical antibiotics plus creams or lotions to help to change the condition and help to gently dry the areas where the sebaceous glands are excreting too much sebum. Here are some daily activities that should help to maintain a clear and healthy skin that is free of acne symptoms.  Water  One of the simplest methods of acne care is simply to increase the amount of drinking water that you take in each day. Additional water means your cells remain hydrated. Good hydration and good circulatory system health means that your entire body functions better. The toxins released from the cells such as dead skin cells are flushed away when there is plenty of water in the system. Overall body health leads to specific health of the major organs such as the skin. A good circulatory system moves the toxins from the system out of the body through perspiration, respiration and kidney function. So drink half your body weight in ounces of water each day.  Cleansing  Your daily routine for acne care should always include morning and evening cleansing with a gentle product such as one containing salicylic acid. This substance provides a mild drying action without further damage to the skin. The acne blemishes should never be scrubbed with harsh cleansers or products that only tend to make the skin more inflamed. However, exfoliation is a part of cleansing. Warm water and gentle action help to clear the pores of built up oils and dead skin cells without cell damage.  Drying  The drying action of salicylic acid has been proven effective as part of the acne care routine, both morning and evening. By using a colorless drying agent as part of the cleansing product, it provides a base for the daily activities, including specialized makeup that is not oil based. Using the drying product at bedtime helps the skin to heal, as well. Several good products for acne contain salicylic acid, so you can read the labels or use products recommended by your health care professional for your daily routine. The products are typically over the counter, but aggressive action early in the course of the disease may help to prevent most, if not all scarring.  Healing  Of course, the daily acne care routine should include products that help the damaged skin to heal. This can be a non oil based moisturizer, a topical antibiotic, or products to reduce redness and swelling. Again, some products are over the counter while others require a prescription. Checking with the medical personnel will provide an accurate diagnosis of the type of acne that is involved. Treatment for any acne should begin with an understanding of the type of acne and then the best daily care routine can be more easily established.  Âbr

By looking at the vast array of over the counter medications, and impressed by the pep talk of the salesman, you feel that you are going to win over the skin! But you also know the basic truth- there is no total remedy, until this date, which promises you the authentic treatment of acne.

Strange are the happenings in this modern scientific era. You have built mighty ships, and giant planes. You have reached the moon and are about to challenge the mars! But you don’t know about this acne, these simple whiteheads and blackheads!

Acne has a cosmopolitan approach. It doesn’t target the particular section of humanity. Babies, children, teenagers, adults, women and senior citizens- it attacks all! Since you don’t know the total cure for your acne, you need to develop a particular strategy to treat it.

With acne on the march now, who are your enemies at the moment? Oil glands- which are engaged in overtime production of oil, bacteria- that cause the acne eruption or dead skin cells- that lead to clogged pores? You need to treat and attack each one of them. Each one them is capable of causing maximum damage to your acne condition. They need to be eliminated.

The oldest and the best acne skin care treatment is Benzoyl Peroxide. It is available in the form of gels, lotions and creams. Its primary job is to fight bacteria, on the surface of the skin. It dries and peels the skin and thus contains the acne. In most of the skin care and acne products, this is used. You need to take it for four to six weeks, to get the full results.

Antibiotics are the second line of defense in the acne skin care treatment. They take care of the bacteria. Antibiotics are the part of many creams, gels and lotions. They are mainly given as part of the oral medication. They are Erythromycin, Tetracycline and Clindamycin. The antibiotics have the anti-inflammatory effect that go to reduce the swelling and redness of acne eruptions.

As already indicated, acne is the outer manifestation on the skin, the inner impurities. While most of these medicines take care of the outer aspect of the skin, there are certain medications that travel deep into the skin. A prescription medicine such as Adapalene reduces the build-up of dead skin cells within the pores.

Most of these skin care products may or may not show side effects on the users. Some of the side effects can even be damaging to your overall health, if they surface. So, consultation with the doctor is sincerely advised, before you go for such over the counter medications.
