Blackheads are one of the most basic and most common forms of acne. Despite their commonality, they can make you feel insecure or embarrassed about your skin. However, becoming blackhead free may not be as difficult as you thought.
Blackheads are caused by a combination of dirt, germs, and oil that clogs the pore. If you working on how to get rid of blackheads, you should focus on getting rid of clogged pores. It is also important that you not do anything to cause more blackheads or worse acne. Here are 5 tips to help you improve your skin and get rid of blackheads.
#1 Do not over wash your face or scrub too hard. This can cause excessive dryness and other damage. This causes your body to overproduce oil. Oil, of course, is the main ingredient of a blackhead.
#2 Never exercise with makeup or lotions on your face. When you exercise, you sweat. If you are wearing makeup or lotion it will seal your skin and not allow it your pores to breathe while you sweat. The sweat will combine with the materials in your makeup or lotion and further clog your pores, causing more blackheads.
#3 Stop touching your face. Touching your face causes your skin to produce more oil. It also exposes your skin to more dirt and germs. When dirt, germs, and oil combine you get blackheads and other acne. Furthermore, touching your face pushes blackheads further into your pores.
#4 If you use a concealer to disguise your blackheads make sure it fights acne and does not cause it. Too many forms of makeup are filled with oils and other chemicals that will increase your acne. However, non-comodogenic makeup is typically water based and will not break out skin. There are even certain concealers that contain topical treatments, like benzoyl peroxide, that will actually promote blackhead removal.
#5 Use products that focus on unclogging the pore. Blackheads are caused by a clogged pore; therefore removing the clog will get rid of the blackhead. Do not squeeze or pick at your blackheads, because this can cause scarring. However, there are safe, many times natural, products that will erode the material clogging the pore and then wash it away. Products that focus on clearing pores are some of the best for getting rid of blackheads.
These are just 5 techniques of how to get rid of blackheads. They are not expensive or hard to do. With just some simple changes to your routine you will find that you can have clearer, healthier skin.
